{BIRTHDAY} Saylor's Bowling Party

My niece Saylor turned 9 and my sister threw her a really fun bowling party. The kids got dropped off at Saylor's house and ate snacks and played pictionary while waiting for everyone to arrive. Then they headed over to the bowling alley. It's a great age for a bowling party because these kids need no instruction. They put on their own shoes, they pick out their own ball, and they get the game started. It was awesome. We couldn't bring our own food into the bowling alley so after the games were over we laid out blankets in the grass outside and ate donuts and chocolate milk. Saylor opened presents while waiting for the parents came to pick up their kid.
The favor: purple and orange gum balls.

{BIRTHDAY} Pony Party - Quinn's 4th Birthday

My sister Annie did it again. Another successful birthday party. Her youngest, Quinn, turned four and they decided to have a pony party. Annie rented a pony to come to the house to give rides to the kids. When not on a pony ride they had a craft table, snacks, and some party games. For dessert: cookies and ice cream!

{BIRTHDAY} Campbell and Houston turn 2

My niece Campbell and her cousin Houston turn 2 just a few days apart so this year they combined a birthday party. The party was on St. Patricks Day which made a rainbow / shamrock theme easy! The mothers of these two did most of the work, I just assisted and flipped some pancakes. They are masters at parties. They served brunch, a selection of chocolate chip pancakes and green whipped cream, cereal with green milk, zucchini whole wheat donuts, and fruit skewers.
It was a cold and rainy Saturday in Orange County which killed the plans of having this party outdoors but everything still worked out. After eating brunch the kids had fun water coloring their name (idea from Dandee), stringing dyed noodles, tossing gold bean bags into a cauldron, and playing with balls and bikes in the garage.
(i think my favorite picture is of the dads chillin hard in the living room!)
